The Baby Shows are the ultimate events dedicated to pregnancy, parenting, babies and toddlers. Taking place in three locations – Earls Court London, NEC Birmingham and ExCeL London, these Shows attract thousands of pregnant women and hundreds of companies and experts.

The Baby Show is the UK's biggest live marketing channel to parents-to-be and new parents, and currently draws in excess of 75,000 visitors a year.

The Challenge:

Clarion Events selected Big Picture Interactive to develop a new website for The Baby Shows.

Their primary objective was to help position The Baby Shows as the UK's leading live showcase for the pregnancy, birth, baby & toddler sector.

It had to be seen as a not-to-miss event, helping convert website visitors into ticket bookers.

What we did:

The customer journey and needs of the target audiences were considered at every stage in our planning and the result was the development of an exciting environment reflecting the Shows' bold new branding.

This is all based on our simple to use Amber Content Management System and has additional modules enabling the maintenance of revenue-generating button advertisements on the site. There is also a campaign tracker to record visitors' point of entry via marketing campaigns to access ROI.

Search engine optimisation

Search engine optimisation was a priority within the project, to ensure the site was easily found by casual browsers. A range of parenting keywords were identified that were reflected within current information on site and the published material was rewritten to maximise search engine optimisation.

The optimisation of the website has been successful with www.thebabyshow.co.uk receiving over 200 links from page 1 positions on the top search engines for search terms as broad as baby milestones, carriers, how to cope with morning sickness and top 10 boys names in 2006.
