QCA

Client:QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority)
Project:Secondary curriculum review
Skill base:Website development and design, CD-ROM, Adobe Flash presentation and interactive tour
URL: QCA Secondary Curriculum Review

Profile:

The QCA maintains and develops the national curriculum and associated assessments, tests and examinations; and accredits and monitors qualifications in colleges and at work. The authority develops the national curriculum, which defines the knowledge, understanding and skills to which children and young people are entitled.

The Challenge:

To develop a framework to present the proposed new curriculum and the supporting materials. Presenting the material interactively supports the QCA's goal to produce a modern curriculum.

What we did:

Created a website setting out the proposed new curriculum, letting visitors navigate around the site following the approach most relevant to them, whether that is a certain subject or key stage. The site was linked to a survey hosted by Ipsos MORI, to allow people to read then submit their responses instantly.

BPI also developed a short tour in Adobe Flash, highlighting key areas of the site and how they integrate into the proposed new curriculum.

A CD-ROM was created, using the website as a base, to allow QCA staff to have all the information available when making presentations to key educational bodies.
