Profile
- The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT) is the 100th Livery Company of the City of London, bringing together the centuries old Livery tradition and information technology, the key industry of the new millennium
- For hundreds of years Livery Companies have sought to promote their particular trades and professions, whilst also undertaking a range of charitable and educational activities.
The Challenge
- To create an online resource for schools and to target teachers, focusing on the history of London
- To target broad age range of students, providing sufficient depth for older students without alienating younger learners
- To increase awareness for the WCIT.

Highlights
- NGfL (National Grid for Learning) approved site
- New Media Awards nominated site 2001
- The site is divided into two sections on Victorian London and London At War, each with a section targeted at Teachers and at Learners
- Teacher Zones includes downloadable worksheets and activities to support specific units of the QCA scheme of work for history at key stages 2 and 3
- The Learners zone provides in-depth content, using images and illustrative backgrounds to bring it to life
- Development of educational resources to complement the National Curriculum with printable downloads.
