A unique movie-based website for CITV aimed at children and younger teenagers. The new website at www.popcorn.co.uk brings the world of cinema and films in a format that is engaging and inviting.
The Challenge
- To create an exciting and innovative site that will appeal to children
- Use Flash for interactive elements whilst ensuring the site is accessible to the widest possible audience
- Provide an inviting site on which advertisers will pay to promote new film releases and other associated products
- Create a strong brand that can be carried over and used for a future TV programme.

Highlights
- In addition to the usual movie news and features, the site includes a range of competitions, games and interactive elements
- Captured data is used intelligently for use with future marketing campaigns
- The design, layout and interactive content were all created to appeal to the target audience and to encourage repeat visits to the site, whilst at the same time ensuring that the site is accessible to the widest possible audience
- The site itself can be ‘skinned’ for specific promotional campaigns; for example to promote and support major film releases
- In June 2005 the site was recognised in New Media Age as their “Site of the week”, achieving a highly respected 88% rating
