World War 2 site shortlisted for education award

1st December 2008

Learning Curve World War II, the site BPI created for National Archives has been shortlisted in the annual BETT awards within the secondary curriculum category.

The BETT awards recognise outstanding education sector products and learning solutions.

The finalists are selected from a criteria that considers how the project fits within the national curriculum, inclusive and accessible considerations, intuitative and easy to use solutions, engage and promote learning and offer formative assessment - as well as stimulating design.

The team at BPI embraced the challenge to create a stimulating site that incorporated the valuable footage and extensive archive materials from National Archives whilst keeping the educational and accessible objectives clearly in mind. The end result has been well received.

The winner will be announced in January - we wish National Archives every success.

The site can be viewed at www.learningcurve.gov.uk
