Horrid Henry's Hyper Hit

26th February 2007

Big Picture Interactive's latest game for CITV is proving a monster hit with pre-teens across the country with cases of horridness popping up everywhere!

The Flash-animated game on the CITV website lets players, as the popular book and TV character Horrid Henry, work their way around his house and garden annoying his mum, dad and brother, with a range of tricks.

Horrid Henry's maximum exasperation

The stunts include blasting with a horn, farting, turning lights on and off – you think of a trick that annoys and it’s here!

The player has to keep the exasperation up to maximum for both parents and his sibling, and can also play a bonus level when Henry is sent to his room for doing something particularly horrid. The bonus level allows users to score extra points by throwing Mr Kill into his basket.

Players can enter the top 50 high score table if they have proved their obnoxious credentials, with competition hotting up every 24 hours before the board is wiped clean again to let new players take their chance.

Half term horridays

The game was developed for CITV to run in connection with the HALF TERM HORRIDAYS promotion on the channel, and was devised initially as a competition driver.

Hand-drawn by the illustration and animation team at Big Picture Interactive (BPI), the game was coded in Flash and handed over to CITV within a few weeks of the initial commission.

This is just the latest in a series of games BPI has created for ITV. The game is based on both the Horrid Henry television series, currently proving to be a massive hit on the CITV Channel and ITV 1, produced by Novel Entertainment; and the best selling books written by Francesca Simon, illustrated by Tony Ross and published by Orion Children's Books.
