Food allergy learning module launched by FSA

30th September 2008

BPI’s first project for the FSA was launched today and will allow enforcement officers to learn, interactively, about food allergies online.

Introducing food allergy learning modules online will allow officers, people in the food industry, such as restaurant managers and staff, and members of the public to interact with a range of scenarios, including restaurants and factories, to identify possible food allergens and how to avoid cross-contamination.

BPI’s BrandEd approach brings the modules online to encourage learning by involving users in a fun and informative way.

A second contact for e-learning has also been awarded to BPI – this time for vacuum packaging. We will work closely with the client to build on the success and learning of the food allergy site.

The site was built in Flash and .net and can be found at http://allergytraining.food.gov.uk/
